Dr. Bingyun Li is an Associate Professor with tenure at West Virginia University Medical School. He received his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. He comleted his in Biomaterials Science & Engineering from Chinese Academy of Sciences (1994-1997).Dr. Li is an active reviewer for more than 50 international journals. He is a member of the Society for Biomaterials (SFB), Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), Materials Research Society (MRS), and American Chemical Society (ACS). Dr. Li’s research focuses on nanomaterials, local drug delivery, and advanced orthopaedic biomaterials. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters. Dr. Li has received several prestigious awards including the Berton Rahn Prize from AO Foundation in 2011, the Pfizer Best Scientific Paper Award from Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Annual Meeting in 2013, and the Collaborative Exchange Award from Orthopaedic Research Society in 2013.

Dr. McDonough is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics, West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown, WV. He graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. McDonough completed his residency training in Orthopaedics at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He then went on to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan. He joined the department of Orthopaedics at West Virginia University in 2007 as a member of the Sports Medicine Division. He was later appointed Assistant Residency Program Director for the Department of Orthopaedics in 2011. He has served as a team physician for both West Virginia University and Waynesburg University athletics. In addition to his duties as a team physician at Waynesburg University, he has also served as the Medical Director for the Athletic Training Program.

Dr. McDonough research interests include simple and complex disorders of the knee and shoulder with particular interest in multi-ligament knee injuries ACL, PCL and collateral ligament reconstruction, meniscal and articular cartilage injuries and resident education in arthroscopy.
